What are Holding Entities?

Holding entities are organizational structures you can use to group your assets and liabilities. They help you better visualize and manage different parts of your financial portfolio. In your Vyzer account, the holding entity is an attribute that you can assign to any asset or liability, allowing you to filter, sort, and view real-time performance and gain valuable insights for each of your entities.

Accessing Entities Management

You can access this feature in two ways:

  1. Go to "My Account" > "Preferences"

  2. From any asset or liability info tab, scroll down to the 'Holding Entity' section. Here, select 'Edit Entities Management' to access the Entities Management page.

Creating a New Holding Entity

  1. Navigate to "Preferences" under "My Account"

  2. Click "Add New Entity"

  3. Enter a name for your entity

  4. Choose a color (for easy visual identification)

  5. Add a description (optional, but helpful for remembering the entity's purpose)

Setting a Default Holding Entity

Having a default entity streamlines the process of adding new assets or liabilities.

  1. In the Holding Entities Management section, select your preferred default entity

  2. This entity will now be automatically selected when adding new assets or liabilities

Note: If you haven't selected a default, Vyzer will use the entity with the most assets as the default.

Editing or Deleting Entities

  1. Go to the Holding Entities Management section

  2. Find the entity you want to modify

  3. Click to edit its details or delete it entirely

Tips for Effective Use

  • Use descriptive names for your entities

  • Assign distinct colors to make identification easier

  • Regularly review and update your entities to ensure they reflect your current financial structure

Benefits of Using Holding Entities

  • Better Organization: Categorize your assets and liabilities for clearer financial oversight

  • Visual Clarity: Use colors to quickly identify different parts of your portfolio
